It was fine for awhile. Not worth fixing. We used only a few times on family trips. Then it quit spinning just after warranty expired. Bummed out , as this was supposed to be a good one and we've had good luck w/ other Toshiba products. I won't buy another though.
Tried to get a replacement but the Outlet did not have any other units - no longer in stock. The product arrived on time and billing was on spot. Upgraded unit (at least the cost was more) but got a smaller screen (7" vs 9"). Unfortunately the unit stopped displaying the video. Audio worked but video quit. Waiting for delivery of new 7" portable DVD player and credit for returned, defunct 9" portable DVD player. Expect things to go ok from here.
We used it only a couple of times before the DVD drive began making noises. About 9 months later, after light use (estimated 20 hours) the DVD stopped spinning entirely. Toshiba says to send it in for repair (at customer cost) and as there is no receipt (item was a gift) customer must pay labor charges.
Have to keep turning it on and off to get it to work and sometimes it won't continue to play the dvd. Bought this dvd player for airplane use. Started freezing up and skipping while playing dvd's within the first year of use. For the money, you definitely should buy an extended service plan or a cheaper dvd player. The player is good when it works, but unless you can afford to keep replacing it, it's not worth the money.
Not a problem for this DVD player. This was definetly one of the best DVD players for the size and price. Never had 1 Issue with it. I'm currently deployed to Iraq, and have had this DVD player for the last 10 months. The conditions are dusty and sometimes extremely hot. Great picture, long battery life(about 5 1/2 hours) and easy to use. Definetly recommend to anybody wanting a portable DVD player.
